Established in 1958, China Electric Apparatus Research Institute (CEI), affiliated to China National Machinery Industry Corporation, engaged in technological R & D, national test and technological production, now has over 2,000 staff, with 70% of professional technical people. After developing for half a century, current CEI is a state-level innovative enterprise. The three operation bases of CEI occupy over 400,000m2 in area and 280,000m2 in construction area.

The headquarters of CEI is located in Xingangxi Road of Guangzhou City, with an area of over 40,000m2, having 9 state-level technical R & D platforms such as State Key Laboratory, State Innovative Enterprise and International Co-operation Base, 11 provincial and municipal level technological R & D platforms such as the provincial and municipal public laboratories and key laboratories, 17 international standards interface platforms, 11 national standard platforms and 16 industrial platforms, and the R & D team leaded by doctors, masters and experts in different academic fields and industries. CEI co-operates internationally in sciences and technologies with more than 30 countries such as U.S.A., Germany and Japan. Our researches cover 6 areas and over 30 specialties such as environmental science, material science, evaluation science, energy source science, engineering science and intelligent science, and obtain over 4100 scientific and technical achievements. We have the most advanced scientific and technical apparatus and equipments worldwidely.

CVC, the certification and testing base of CEI, is located in Guangzhou Science City in Huangpu, occupying an area of 40,000m2, which is the biggest electric and electrical testing organization with the widest capabilities and business scope in Asia, and co-operates with the testing organizations from more than 38 economies such as U.S.A. and U.K. in the field of test data exchange acceptance. The scope of testing involves 8 national economy development areas, including household electrical appliances, electronic products, automobiles, hardware, steel and irons, petrochemicals, materials and electric power. CVC is capable of testing according to more than 2,000 standards, with over 30,000 testing items involved. CVC issues above 30,000 test reports every year and serves up to 3,000 enterprises all over the world. The capabilities and qualifications of CVC are accepted by 65 certification bodies from more than 50 countries. CVC is the only one organization on behalf of China joining in IEC SMB/SG1 International Expert Group of Standardization Strategy on Energy Efficiency and Renewable Resources, and takes part in working out the strategy of international energy consumption standard.

The technological industrial base of CEI is located in Huadu District of Guangzhou with an area of 220,000m2 occupied, and is mainly engaged in development, production and sale of the followings: -complete-set of production line and test line for household electrical appliances and relevant components, -production line of powder coatings and paint coatings, -production line for electroplating, oxidizing, and coloring of aluminum alloys,-waste water and waste gas treatment equipment, -excitation system and power supply equipment for power stations,-test instruments and complete-set testing equipment for batteries, -special type powder coatings, -paint coatings, -complete-set testing equipment, -fine chemical industrial materials, -electrotechnical insulation materials, -controls for appliances, -electrotechnical apparatus and instruments.
